Firebone Theater
Ei Business Plan
Winner
By Amelia Peterson

The story of Firebone Theatre has become markedly more interesting since God began pulling us into Redeemers Center for Faith and Work. Up until this year, Firebone Theatre has been held together by a few dedicated artists and lots of prayer. After our last production we felt like the wind had been completely knocked out of us by whole experience, positive though it was. The romance of our story was fading, and we were starting to realize that we would need some serious support if this company was going to make it in NYC.

At the suggestion of some friends, my husband and I entered Firebone Theatre in Redeemers Entrepreneurship Initiative Business Plan Competition. A BFA in Theatre Studies and an MFA in Acting didnt quite prepare us for the challenges of running a business. Weve managed thus far with some street smarts and a lot of help from friends.

God is slowly changing the fabric of our theatre company as He weaves these bits of brokenness, redemption, theology and community into our identity. We are continually astounded by the incredibly artistic way in which our Creator works. We are confident that in the end, we will look back and say, We never would have guessed.but of COURSE! God could easily spare us from the hopeless impossibility of growing a theatre company in New York City, but then what kind of story would we have to tell?

For the past four months the CFW Staff has been going through a process of "Re-imagining CFW." As part of a six-month process, our team has been applying the very principles that we've taught over the years to ourselves. We've considered how we can be better equipped, connected, and mobilized to serve all of you and the City.

As we approach the final two months of this process, we want to hear from you. If you have any feedback or suggestions or ideas, please share with us by replying to this email. We would love to hear from you before we begin to develop our plans for the next ministry year.

May God's will be done in & through your work,

David, Amilee, Kenyon, Calvin, Scott, & Chris

2013 Ei BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION UPDATE
Ei held its Business Plan Competition finals with over 100 attendees including the 15 volunteer judges who selected three winners. The winners are Mosaic, Firebone Theatre, and Gigzolo in the not-for-profit, arts, and for-profit sectors, respectively. Over 50 volunteers led workshops, read, evaluated, and coached the 33 entrants over this 6 month process. Pray for our winners as they present at the Ei Forum this weekend and continue in their faithful endeavors.

SKILL-SPECIFIC OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
We believe the work you do every day is and can be done in service to God & others. In addition to the every-day ways you serve, here are two current needs:
 (a) Professionals in Action: Various skills sought by PIA, the arm of Hope for New York mobilizing skilled volunteers to render services to their affiliates.
 (b) Redeemer Short-Term Missions: Business & Finance professionals needed for several projects this summer.
