Center for Faith and Work
AUG. 15, 2017

Dear {first},

As the summer winds down, we hope you have experienced times of rest that have allowed you to feel a sense of rejuvenation for your upcoming work in the fall. At CFW we are offering two unique opportunities to newly consider your day-to-day vocational calling. This fall, consider participating in our introductory 6-Week Faith & Work Class and intermediate 12-Week Faith & Work Intensive.

In these cross-vocational courses, you will learn how to apply theological content and biblical truths to your everyday work, creating a more meaningful vision and sustainable integration of faith & work. In smaller vocation-based cohorts, we’ll consider how the gospel challenges common industry idols, explore what Scripture has to say about the tensions inherent in our work, and imagine innovative ways to address areas of brokenness in our fields. Registration is now open for these opportunities.

Consider spending the fall with us investing in a deeper understanding of how God is using your work to bring about the flourishing of his kingdom in New York City.

Sincerely,

David H. Kim, Executive Director, Center for Faith & Work

EXPERIENCE

FALL FAITH & WORK COURSES

How does the gospel transform your everyday work? CFW offers our F&W Class (6-week introductory level) and F&W Intensive (12-week intermediate level). These two courses are meant to be taken in sequence and provide a rich Biblical overview of the significance of work followed by a more intensive experience integrating theological and spiritual formation in the context of a committed community (similar to our Gotham program). Both of these courses are cross-vocational to bring a deeper transformation in the way we view and experience our day-to-day work. More>

CITY LABS WITH REDEEMER CITY TO CITY

Many congregants struggle to connect worship on Sunday with workplace realities on Monday. CFW, in partnership with Redeemer City to City (CTC), will provide training to pastoral and lay leaders for this year's CityLab Series "Faith and Work: From Vision to Implementation." This five part-series will equip pastors and ministry leaders with the tools necessary to create a faith and work movement that weaves together robust theology and spiritual formation in community. Each session will include teaching from Tim Keller and David H. Kim, practical guidelines for developing programming, hands-on exercises, and spiritual formation practices. Dates and tickets available HERE.

THE ART OF STORYTELLING & PUBLIC SPEAKING
FOR BUSINESS

Join us September 26th! In this three hour workshop, you will focus on the persuasive power of telling personal narrative stories and how to connect to employees and clients like you never have before. Also, you will touch upon various techniques that will help you become more comfortable with public speaking and work presentations. Led by Adam Wade, a record 20-time Story Slam Champion at The Moth, whose comedic storytelling has been lauded by critics at The New York Times, The Village Voice, Newsweek and New York Magazine. This 8-lesson course focuses on these questions as artists take an in-depth look at their field through the lens of the gospel.
