Center for Faith and Work
JAN. 4, 2018

Dear {first},

It's a new year and after the chaos that often comes with the holiday season, January is a perfect time to reset a healthy practice of Sabbath. Rhythms of work and rest are needed for our work to flourish.

One of the most enriching opportunities CFW offers for cultivating this pattern is our Work & Rest Retreat. On January 26-28, join me for a weekend of renewal and refreshment as we set aside time for worship and rest in Princeton, NJ. Through times of guided teaching and reflection, we’ll explore how the gospel provides life-giving rest for our souls. We've designed the weekend to develop spiritual practices that will integrate into the lives of New Yorkers. Worship music for the weekend will be provided by Mason Jar Music's Jon Seale.

We hope you will join us for a weekend to reflect on how your soul rests upon the work of Christ.

Sincerely,

David H. Kim, Executive Director, Center for Faith & Work

Join us for a weekend that focuses upon spiritual rest, while connecting with others within and across vocational spheres. Enjoy times of guided teaching and reflection from David H. Kim and other CFW staff. Lodging will be at Princeton Seminary's Erdman Center in Princeton, NJ. Register before rates increase on January 10. More>

FAITH & WORK CLASS: BEGINS JANUARY 23

"These 6 weeks were some of the most powerful and encouraging in my life, and I'm forever grateful." - Past Participant

How does your faith connect in the day-to-day with your work life? This introductory level cross-vocational course will focus on six different Bible passages from which we will gain insight concerning God's intention for our work. We will be weaving spiritual practices, daily devotionals, and group discussion together in community. Held Tuesday nights beginning January 23. More>

WRITING WITH THE FREEDOM TO CREATE

Fear is a gripping and paralyzing emotion for many of us. When it comes to writing, fear of rejection, shame, and ridicule can prevent us from sharing our gift with others. What if we could create with the assurance that our works are divinely ordered, and that there's an intended audience that will benefit from our sacrifice? Join Jakki Kerubo (Wall Street Journal, Golden Handcuffs Review, Stir Journal, and Huffington Post) on January 22 for a conversation on the freedom to create. We’ll examine freedom from fear and develop some tools to help us be more vulnerable and courageous in our vocation. More>
