Step Closer to
Creating World’s Largest Illumin-
ated Bible

Hundreds of New York artists are organizing around a mission to illuminate every phrase within the pages of a certain book—the Bible. On Friday, January 24th, CFW Business Plan Competition winner Spark and Echo Arts will showcase over a dozen performing, literary, and visual artists in the top of their field. Ashley Daneman, Christina Gorman, Aaron Kruziki, Elizabeth Dishman, Mara Measor, and Emily Ruth Hazel will present original performance works created in response to passages of scripture, while Blake Ruehrwein will curate the gallery of visual works. The event will also unveil the fifty-two new artists who will be commissioned to reach next year’s goal of presenting one original biblically inspired piece a week.

All the works are commissioned by Spark and Echo Arts, a New York-based non-profit creating the world’s largest multi-disciplinary illumination of the Bible. Spark and Echo Arts commissions professional artists of all backgrounds to create thought-provoking work that captures the depth and breadth of biblical text. Spark and Echo Arts Live is an opportunity for the public to experience the wide variety of works created in the past year and to meet the creators. Guests will also have the opportunity to nominate artists for future commissions.
