EI Applied Case
Studies

New for 2013! Entrepreneurship & Innovation is launching an Applied Case Study series.  As part of our targeted focus on supporting New York City entrepreneurs and beyond, we will be implementing a year-long series of real case studies from our community to provide a combination of practical, tactical, theological, and pastoral advice to common issues faced by entrepreneurs. We want to highlight how the gospel expands our entrepreneurial scope, vision, and impact as we explore this unique nexus of faith & work.

Register for our next Applied Case Study: Launching a Good Idea
 October 3, 2013 | 7-9:30PM 150 W 83rd Street, Room 406

Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer of Rising Tide Capital, Alex Forrester, joins us for our next applied case study centered on “Launching a Good Idea.” Rounding out the trialogue will be Neal Winterhof of Upaya Social Ventures and Jeff White of Redeemer Downtown to converse on both the business and theological aspects respectively.

In a 2009 White House speech, President Barack Obama recognized Rising Tide Capital as an innovative non-profit organization. It’s easy to see why. Located in Jersey City, where 21.1% of residents live below the poverty line, Rising Tide Capital confronts poverty in a direct way—by providing resources and education to help people start their own businesses. Co-founded in 2004 by Alfa Demmellash and Alex Forrester, Rising Tide Capital served 373 entrepreneurs in 2011 alone. And their Community Business Academy—an 11-week course that provides hands-on training in planning and management—now boasts an 85% success rate.
