The era of the religious right is waning and the younger Christian generation is searching for a new model of political engagement.  Yet, no one is quite sure what that model should be. Michael Gerson and Gideon Strauss wrestle with precisely this issue.  Gerson, a senior official in the George W. Bush administration surveys the successes and failures of the religious right and shares his experience inside the White House.  Strauss, from the Center for Public Justice, argues that Christians must be marked by the often contradictory virtues of being people with strong conviction as well as a people of uncommon civility towards those whom they passionately disagree with.
