Join us for a conversation with Dr. Lisa Hertzog, teacher educator and administrator, for this event in our Soulful Work Lunch Series. Each month CFW will host dialogues with professionals from various industries, utilizing a practical theological framework to identify the inherent goodness of work, its outcomes, and the deeper questions it asks of us.

Lunch and a time of Q&A will be included.

Dr. Lisa Hertzog

Lisa Hertzog is the Executive Director of Teacher Effectiveness for the New York City Department of Education. Dr. Hertzog has led the work of creating professional development, resources, and job-embedded coaching to support the implementation of NYC’s teacher development and evaluation system. She advises on teacher evaluation policy as well as strategy to support the development of NYC's 74,000 teachers in over 1700 schools.

Prior to joining Teacher Effectiveness, Dr. Hertzog was the Executive Director of Academic Support for New York City’s District 79 Alternative Schools and Programs. She served on the U.S. Department of Education’s expert ELA/literacy Panel to recommend which Common Core ELA/Literacy standards should be included in the nation’s revised Adult Basic Education Standards. Also, Dr. Hertzog has worked as a National Board Certified Spanish bilingual, ESL, and general education elementary teacher as well as an instructor in the Preservice Elementary Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Teaching in Urban Education from Teachers College.

Dr. Hertzog is a member of Redeemer Lincoln Square and serves as a deaconess and community group leader.
