October 29 @ 7:00 PM - October 29 @ 9:00 PM
“For me, conferences are like little mental vacations: a chance to go visit an interesting place for a couple of days, and come back rested and refreshed with new ideas and perspectives.” —Erin McKean
Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond will lead us in the faith & writing discussion On Festivals and Conferences: How to Promote Your Work and Make Connections without Losing Your Voice or Faith? In this interactive discussion, we will discuss why festivals and conferences are important for writers to attend—whether you’re an unpublished writer who is just beginning your literary journey or are well established in your career. We’ll also discuss the role faith plays in the promoting your books and building relationships with authors, agents, editors, and readers in secular settings.
Afterwards, we’ll break into critique circles. Please bring 1 to 2 pages (double spaced) of original writing in any genre for feedback. You will also be given writing time to work on our critiqued piece or free write on the topic of the faith & writing discussion.
We will conclude our fellowship with a special time to pray over our creative endeavors.
